STUDIO ARTIST SHARE

In 2020, the dance studio at Shebang transitioned to an artist share model, moving the support of individual artists and small artist groups to the center of our mission through subsidized space. If you are looking for a space to house your creative practice, please fill out the interest form here to let us know a bit about you and your work.

- Use the space how you see fit, including classes and showings
- Shared awesome vibes with the visual artists working downstairs
- Shebang will maintain insurance and general studio cleaning and repair
- Studio must be swept and left clear of stuff after each use

- Scheduling and rate details below!

1. Monthly membership costs are determined by the number of hours used in a month ($71.25 to maintain share membership), charged hourly and billed at the beginning of the month for the upcoming month. There are no longer standard share sizes. 
2. The hourly rates are:
- non-high traffic (Mon-Fri 9-5): $8/hr
- high traffic (weekdays 5-10pm and weekend days all day): $10/hr
- commercial uses (anytime of day): $15/hr
3. Being a member means committing to a minimum payment of $71.25/month, for which you get access to the above reduced rates (regular hourly rentals at Shebang begin at $15/hr).
4. How much you book is up to you and calendar availability. If your bookings total less than $71.25, the remainder will be added to bring your total owed to the monthly minimum.
5. Scheduling is handled by the Shebang team through a shared Google calendar that is effectively a request calendar. You can still book 6 months out. 
- Requested times are entered into a share members-only Google calendar, and you will be booked and confirmed by a Shebang team member. 
- At the beginning of each month you will be invoiced for hours booked. 
- Any last minute additions, within the month, you can add by emailing art.at.shebang@gmail and you'll be invoiced for the time at the start of the following month. 
6. If you are not able to use the space for 1-2 months and want to hold your membership, you can pay the minimum ($71.25) to hold your spot and access to the cheap rates. If for 2 months you haven't used your 15 hours/mo minimum or paid to hold it, your rentals will go back to the standard hourly rental rate. 

If you are looking for further space to make a mess and make magic, there are also variously sized spaces available downstairs for your dedicated use, meaning you don't have to share it, at additional cost to above. Let us know if you're interested in both. 

We are looking for folks who are good at sharing space with others and are considerate about what it means to take care of a space collectively; an interest in clear and direct communication and a wanting to support others needs and perspectives as well as your own- and an understanding of how those things coexist - is a must.
